Greenlands Farm was established in 2001 and has been in operation for the community since 2010 with a farm store, CSA program (vegetable subscriptions for the community), farm to table events, classes & workshops, an on-site nonprofit educational farm animal sanctuary (www.hoofnc.org) and more.
Our goal has always been to be a source of healthy food, education, and a gathering place for our community and travelers that visit our rural area of North Carolina. We have practiced a sustainable lifestyle since the early 1980’s and our roots are integrated into this farm. We opened our farm to the public to give our community a chance to learn, grow, and take part in a slowly diminishing way of life. We want people to connect to their food, the earth, and each other. Operating on our farmland is an educational farm animal sanctuary (Helpers Of Our Farm, HOOF) where we teach about rescued farm animals, animal science, kindness, rehabilitation…all in hopes of creating a society that is more aware of each other and the connections they can make with animals. Kindness can be infectious and we hope through our programs, HOOF can create a better place for all.
Greenlands Farm will the venue for a folk and Americana music festival, Half Hell Folk Music Festival, with a “tap take-over” by Waterline Brewing Co., on June 3, 2017. Brunswick County and surrounding businesses are coming together to bring this event to the community in benefit of Helpers Of Our Farm.
